God’s promises are available to us all. He gives us all specific goals and visions that specifically fit our situation. Many visions are birthed from our circumstances. We are all tested and tried which gives us our testimony. Our vision is the gateway that allows us to tell our story. That allows us to glorify God. Sometimes the vision may be delayed. You may experience many setbacks and face many hurdles; however, the promise is in your perseverance. In your ability to be strong and hang in there. It’s in your ability to see past your current circumstance and to see the promise in the future.
In the Book of Genesis God made many promises to Abraham and his wife Sarah. God promised Abraham land. God promised him that he would make him a great nation. God promised to make Abraham’s name great and told him that he would be a blessing to many. God also promised he and his wife that they would have a child, but in order to recieve the promises both Abraham and Sarah had to be obedient to God’s commands. God instructed Abraham to leave his familiar place, which was with his father, and to go to the land of Canaan. Sometimes in order for us to recieve the promise we have to be willing to go into unfamiliar territory. Now it wasn’t until Abraham made it to Canaan that God made the promise to give him a descendent ( a child); but he had to leave his nephew Lot behind. WOW! This tells us that everyone can not go with us to the promise land. That everyone can not experience the promise with us. We have to be wise enough to know who to leave and who to take. Okay, so once Abraham had done all that God had commanded him to do, his access was granted to the promise.
Abraham and Sarah faced many trials and losses along the way but they continued with their decision to trust and obey God no matter what. In their old age they recieved the promise, the land and their son whom they named Isaac. See the promise was delayed but not denied. At 99 years old Sarah had a child and Abraham become a father for the first time. Let’s remember that regardless of what it might look like God’s promise and his word is true. It may tarry but it will never return to him void. I encourage you to persevere as I continue to encourage myself. Because guess what the PROMISE is over there!!!!
