Be Great

Titus 2:7-8

” in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works, in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that can not be condemed that one is an opponent may be ashamed having nothing evil to say to you.”

God gives us permission to do great things. He wants us to be the best at whatever we do, as long as we are doing it for his glory and to edify his kingdom. Many people shy away from being great and accomplishing great things because we worry about what people will say or how they will react. Maybe they’ll reject us. Maybe they won’t agree with us. They know all of our secrets. Well I’m learning on my spiritual journey that if we are waiting for people to celebrate us or if we are waiting to be perfect to start anything, we will be waiting forever. There will always be a struggle ( a demon to battle), there will always be people who will try to diminish our gifts, our greatness, who will try to talk us out of our destiny and purpose but we have to take some lessons from Nehemiah and go forth anyway. When Nehemiah decided that he wanted to rebuild the wall, he knew he would face opposition on every side. Nehemiah knew that not everyone would root for him nor cheer him on , especially the governs of Jerusalem, but he decided he would rebuild anyway. Not because of his own personal gain but because he knew that there were people out there who needed his help. He knew there were people who needed to be secured. Nehemiah had compassion and he cared about those people. He prayed and fasted to God, seeking guidance and leadership. That is when he approached the King and permission was granted. Nehemiah went forth to do great work because he knew God was on his side and as long as God was with him everything would be alright. We have to look at things in that perspective as well. As long as God is for me I too can GO BE GREAT!!!!
