Petitioning God’s Favor

Favor.jpg

When we think of God’s favor,we also think of his grace. One thing I’m coming to understand is that we were already given the gifts of grace and favor at birth. These are two of the many promises of God that is inherited to us. Meaning, once we made a decision to be born again, to accept Christ as our Lord and our savior we were granted grace and favor. So now that we know that receiving God’s favor is a birth right, we must learn how to tap in to it in order to receive his favor of blessings.

Just like with anything else we petition God for, there have to be intimacy and a relationship with him. Think of it this way. If you had just met someone, a stranger, you wouldn’t ask him or her for favors. You don’t know him or her. You have no idea what their character is like. In other words you would not feel comfortable asking them to do something for you or to give you something. It’s rude, disrespectful, and degrading. How dare you! Right? Well that’s how God feels when we petition him for things and we haven’t took the time to get to know him. It is so important to take special time out of your day to be in his presence. Not to ask him for anything but to just reverence him, to magnify him and to give him glory. To edify him and to just tell him Thank You. Once you feel that you have established a solid, intimate relationship with God then you can feel comfortable with petitioning him for his favor of blessings.

So I challenge you on today, if you do not have a steady relationship with God begin working on that immediately. I look forward to our continuation of walking in our restoration season and obtaining God’s favor of blessings in our lives.

Psalm 30:5, ” For his anger is but for a moment, his favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.”

Peace and Blessings:)
