Love without hypocrisy. I found this to mean that God wants us to show true love to everyone we come in contact with. Love is the primary factor in Christian living. The Book of Romans Chapter 12 verses 9-21 is very special to me. God gave it to me when I was feeling really down and very angry. I was allowing my frustrations to get the best of me. I was so frustrated and overwhelmed that I wanted to scream, argue and fight. I wanted to quit, to give up. I felt like what’s the point in trying. I simply felt like my works were in vain. My prayers, reading the bible, my daily devotion were all in vain. But God being so awesome and wonderful stepped right in and gave me the peace and confirmation that I needed to keep going. Confirmation came in the form of a bible scripture.
So lets see what God was confirming. He was advising me to behave like a Christian. I learned in this lesson that there will be people in your life that will intentionally try to hurt you, try to break you down, that will disappoint you, talk bad to you and about you. They will say things to discredit you. Their words may cut like a knife but we as Christians must love them anyway. Be kind to them anyway. Pray for them, forgive them and continue to encourage and lead them to Christ anyway. We must be slow to anger and quick to listen and to forgive. Our lives should be a positive example for those who do not know Christ in the pardon of their sins. God was instructing me to love passionately and honorably regardless of how I feel. I’m learning that we can not let our emotions control our thoughts, words nor actions. When we act based off of our emotions, we tend to strike back harshly, to lash out and to burn like fire. We do not make rational decisions when we are in emotional distress.
Romans 12:12 tells us to Rejoice in Hope ( live in joy for what ever you are expecting God to do in your life. We can not focus on what we see right now or what we are going through right now but we must remain focus on those things that we hope for); Be Patient in Affliction ( be able to accept hardships and delays without becoming angry or anxious, without wanting to give up or give in, without becoming frustrated); Remain Steadfast in Prayer ( praying non-stop through every situation, remaining faithful and allowing God to see you through).
Remember God always give us what we need when we need it. He does it for me every time and he will do it for you as well. He’s such an awesome God. I encourage you today that whenever you become discouraged, frustrated and annoyed just declare Romans 12:12 in your atmosphere and watch the peace of God began to transcend!!!!!
