Confidence

confidenceConfidence is the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something. It’s having firm trust is one’s own abilities and qualities or that of another. Being confident in yourself does not mean that one have to display arrogance. It simply means that we should have a silent inner knowledge that we are capable of achieving the things that we desire to do and the things that God has called us to do for the advancement of his kingdom. A person who is confident is secure within. I know this all to well because I am currently working on building my confidence. It is disturbing to know that God has placed a mandate on something that he wants you to do and you are afraid to do it. You are afraid that you don’t have what it takes. You are afraid of what people might think or that you are inadequate. That’s why I am so grateful that God has strategies that he often share with us. He knows that I lack in the area of confidence so he is always providing ways for me to work on it. He creates opportunities that allow me to practice and build my confidence a little at a time. Somebody say Thank God for strategy and for knowing exactly what we need before we do!!

God is teaching me that being confident in him will give me the confidence I need in myself. I will be able to walk more boldly in my purpose. I believe the same applies to you as well. It is important that we display confidence in everything that we do. Confidence helps to gain the respect that we want from others. It helps us to try new things and helps us to reach new heights in our careers, friendships, relationships and most importantly in our spiritual walk.

We need to turn the “I can’t” into “I can”. We need to train our minds and as I call it gain the “I can” spirit. The “I can” spirit allows our minds to think the proper thoughts that motivate us to do the things we would normally feel that we could not do. It also helps us to start speaking positive things which will in return manifest positive things into our lives especially build our confidence. A good example of this is ” The Little Engine That Could”. The train had to declare in his atmosphere “I think I can”, ” I think I can” , I think I can”!  He was determined to prove to himself and the others around him, that he was more than just a little blue steam engine. That he could do more than just work around the train yard. He wanted to show them that he too could pull the large cars up the mountain. He had motivation, determination and most of all, he had confidence. He believed in his self. We could all take some tips from that little engine. Let’s begin today to start declaring in our atmosphere, ” I THINK I CAN”.
