It is essential that we know and understand the promises of God. His promises is what we stand on and build our hopes on when it seems like all hell is breaking loose in our lives. His promises is what we lean on during our times of loneliness, discomfort and brokenness. It’s what we stand on when we feel nervous, anxious and afraid. It’s crucial to know the promises of God for yourself because sometimes we have to remind God of them, especially when we feel he has forgotten about us or when we feel that our prayers aren’t being answered. Really we do not have to remind him of anything because he knows and sees all; however, I don’t believe he minds if we mention them to him from time to time. God does have a sense of humor, you know:)

The major reason one should read, study and meditate on God’s promises is to be able to encourage yourself, to motivate yourself when there is no one else around to do it. It also helps us to build confidence in God which in return gives us the confidence  we need to fulfill the purpose God has for our lives. God’s promises feeds, nurtures and sustains our spirit. Knowing them and being able to speak them over your life daily will activate the faith you need for God to start performing miracles in your life. For God to begin to release blessings in your life. For your dreams, goals and visions to begin to manifest in your life.

Genesis Chapters 7-9 are awesome chapters to read in the bible. It discusses Noah and the ark. We all know that God had chosen Noah to build an ark and to save his people. He chose Noah because he believed that Noah was an honest and righteous man. He gave Noah specific instructions and expected him to follow through. God warned Noah that he was going to make it rain for forty days and forty nights. He explained that he was going to destroy every living thing on earth except for those things, animals and people that he commanded Noah to bring on the ark. (Quick Thought: It is critical to be obedient to God’s commands.) Okay so God’s instructions to Noah was very precise when he told him to bring 2 by 2 of all living things. God had a plan y’all! After the great destruction and diminishing flood God had already planned to restore their land. When it was all said and done God told them all to go be fruitful and multiply. He was building them back up after such a devastating and traumatizing experience. Because Noah was faithful and obedient to God’s command, God established a covenant (binding agreement) with him  and every surviving creature. He promised that he would never destroy the earth again by water nor flood. Then he placed a rainbow in the sky as a remembrance to his promise. God is so amazing. I decided to share the story of Noah and the ark because it speaks of the ultimate promise God made to all of us. God’s promises are true and can become a driving force in your life if you would take the time to learn them, read them, study them and declare them in your atmosphere on a continuous basis. Every time you feel discouraged, overwhelmed, alone, afraid, unappreciated, undervalued or unloved remember God’s rainbow. And if you find the strength during your hard time to take a step outside, look up in the sky and you just might see one, right there in front of you. To bring you hope, joy, peace and good cheer!!!

God never said that every day would be perfect but he did PROMISE us that he would be with us always! Matthew 28:20
